Sangita Dasgupta is a Sociologist by training from Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi. She has been trained in Research Methodologies from Centre for Studies of Social Science Kolkata (Eastern Regional unit of Indian Council of Social Science Research). Sangita has also completed a course on Social and Behavioural aspect of Public Health from Department of Health, Behaviour and Society, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Sangita has been working with the Development Sector for more than two decades. She has domain expertise in Program Management, Capacity Building, Advocacy and Knowledge Management. Her area of interest is Sexual and Reproductive Health. She has worked with varied and multiple stakeholders: Government - supporting national programs like National Health Mission, Rashtriya Kishor SwasthyaKaryakram, National AIDS Control Program. Donor Community – DFID, World Bank, UNFPA, UNDP, USAID, BMGF and GFATM. Non-Government/Civil Society Organizations - Child in Need Institute, CARE India, Catholic Relief Services and Plan International (India Chapter). Community Based Organizations - She has worked closely with Positive Networks, NCPI + & UPNP. Sangita has worked closely with LGBTQI community as 'friends of the community', advocating for their rights.
